Skype: A Coming of age story

So as we all probably know, Skype has become Microsoft’s latest (and biggest) acquisition to date in a whopping £5.2 billion takeover.
At first glance, the deal seems extremely pricey due to the fact that Skype makes no money. But the question is, what can Microsoft do to turn that around? eBay previously tried and failed back in 2005, where they were left wondering how they could monetizing and make profit from Skype.
In the end, they sold shares back to the founders as they couldn’t see how they could make Skype work for them.
