So you’re a marketer, you’ve finally grasped the fact that Social Media is a serious marketing tool that needs to be utilised to its full potential in order to keep up with your rivals in a very competitive online world. But what’s next? And how do you know that using social media as part of your strategy is going to pay off? The answer is ROI (Return on Investment).
Have you tried using Twitter Search only to be left confused with the thousands of returned results? Well you’re not alone. Fortunately there’s a way to cut out the fluff and get the results that you’re after.
So your looking for a new job, sending out your CV and searching online relentlessly for that perfect role then suddenly, bam! You have an interview, but what now?
For plenty of businesses, creating a facebook and twitter page has been struck off of the ‘to-do’ list and their business is now ‘social’. Is that the true meaning of social media though? Surely not. As great as those platforms are it’s akin to saying: ‘I have a paintbrush, therefore I am an Artist’.
What I’m trying to say is that having the tools is only one piece of the puzzle. When you start using that tool, through practice, repetition and trial & error you start to get ever closer to being an Artist.
I don’t want to sound patronising like I’m from the older generation, but I like to think I can speak with experience, as I’ve got to grips with using Twitter in the real world and not just for personal use. And yes there is a difference.
